Introduction

The QuickEMR™ system for patient documentation and scheduling was designed by the owner, therapists, and office managers of five physical / occupational therapy clinics in southwest Florida. After shopping around for software and not really finding anything that met our needs, we decided to write our own. After gathering input from everyone in our clinics, we began the system in 1999. Over the next few years we spent time tweaking and modifying the system until we had a solid product that was ready for distribution.


Our original system was offered to the public with great acceptance. We spent the next two years adding more options and tailoring some systems to meet the needs of some of our new partners. Once again, we saw that our direction needed to take a different course in order to truly build a competitive product.


In January, 2006, we released the QuickEMR™ system after spending the previous year re-writing the entire program and redesigning the database. While keeping all the same features of our previous software, we expanded on QuickEMR dramatically to allow greater flexibility for all clinics who take advantage of our program.
