Network Sharing

If you are installing the program on multiple computers and this is the "main" or "server" computer, the QuickEMR folder must be shared in order for other computers on the network to access the database. Following are instructions on sharing the QuickEMR folder for the rest of the network.

1. Click Start->My Computer or right-click the Start button and choose "Explore"

2. Double-click on your "C:" drive

3. Double-click on the "Program Files" folder

4. Scroll down until you can see the folder called "QuickEMR"

5. Right-click on the "QuickEMR" folder and select "Sharing and Security" (Fig 1)

6. When the properties window appears, select the options to "Share this folder on the network" and "Allow network users to change my files" as shown in Fig 2. This is necessary so that other users on other computers can update records in the database. Choose the "Apply" button to apply the share.
