Procedure Codes

This list displays the different Procedure Codes and exercises that can be selected on the Visit Notes documentation screen.

The Procedure Codes list grid is similar to the patient list grid. It can be sorted or searched by each column visible on the screen. For more information, see Grids under Common Program Features. The window can also be maximized to show a larger list with all columns visible.

• To add a procedure code or exercise description, click the "Add New" button. The screen below will appear.
• To edit a procedure code or exercise description, double-click on the row in the grid or highlight the row in the grid and click the "Edit" button. The screen below will appear.
• To delete a procedure code or exercise description, highlight the row in the grid and click the "Delete" button.
• To print the procedure code or exercise description, apply any filter with the drop down box at the top of the screen, sort the list any way desired, and click the Print button.

If entering a procedure that is billed in units, enter the Procedure (CPT) Code. For exercises that will simply be documented, do not enter a Procedure Code.

Enter the description for the procedure / exercise.

If desired, enter the charge amount for the procedure. This field is not used if an exercise is being added.

Enter the amount of time that will calculate to 1 billing unit in the 'Time Per Unit' field. In the example above, a time of 1-60 minutes entered by a provider would calcuate to 1 billing unit. If 61-120 were entered, the billing units would calculate as 2. If a case is marked as Medicare on the Case screen, the 8-minute rule will take effect instead of the Time Per Unit set on this screen.

Finally, select the type of procedure being added or edited from the drop down list.

The 'Inactive' checkbox can be used to prevent a description from appearing in drop down lists.
