Report Preview Window

Most reports in the system will always display first in a print preview window as seen below. This print preview window will display the report about to be printed, but also has greater capabilities that include saving the report to a PDF file, emailing the report to recipients directly from the QuickEMR system, faxing the report to a recipient directly from the QuickEMR system, or searching the report for a particular "String" of data.

The area highlighted in yellow in the above figure allows the navigation to different pages in the report and also allows a user to zoom in or out on the report image.

The features in the area highlighted in red are detailed in the following sections.

 

Save to PDF

This button will save the report showing in the window as a PDF file. PDF files are standard report files that can be viewed by anyone who has Adobe Acrobat Reader®. This is free software that is available at www.adobe.com.

When clicking on this button, a PDF file is automatically created and saved in a case folder created by QuickEMR that will hold all attachments or other files that were created for this particular case.

Email

 

*** This feature requires that e-mail settings be set up properly!!! These option are found under Options on the Email Settings tab. If you need assistance setting up this feature, please get the name of your SMTP Outgoing Mail Server, SMTP Username, and SMTP Password from your Internet Service Provider (ISP) before calling.

This option allows a user to email any report as a PDF attachment to any email address directly from the QuickEMR software. This saves the time of creating a PDF file, opening your email software, attaching the file, and finally sending it.

When first clicking on the EMail button, the screen below will appear.

Fax

*** This feature requires that fax settings be set up properly!!! These option are found under Options on the Fax Settings tab.

*** This feature also requires an additional fax service from either GoDaddy.com or MyFax.com. Both of these are premium services that allow faxing of documents through your internet connection. Costs start at around $10 per month for up to 120 faxes pages.

With the fax option, users can fax any report directly to any fax number from the QuickEMR software. This means that users will not have to print the document, create a fax cover sheet, and then fax documents through your fax machine.

When first clicking on the Fax button, the screen below will appear.

Search Report Feature

The search report box (shown in yellow below) allows a user to search a report for an occurence or occurences of a "string" of text. This can be useful especially for lenghty reports. Simply enter a part of a word or phrase in the search box and click the "Find" button. The "Find" button will start the search from page one(1) of the report. The "Find Next" will find the next occurence of the string from where the search last left off.
