Tools - Check For Update

Use this tool to see if an update is available for QuickEMR. If available, the screen below will appear.

Click the "Yes" button to close QuickEMR and launch the update program. The new window below will appear.

You may get a message from your Firewall software warning you that "QEMRUpdate.exe is trying to access the internet". You must Grant Access or Permit Access for QEMRUpdate.exe to access the internet or it cannot download the updates for you.

Begin "Server" Update - This option needs to be performed if you have QuickEMR on one computer or mulitiple networked computers. This option copies the updated files from our web server and places them in the Data\QEMRUpdates folder. While performing the Server update, all users should be out of QuickEMR. If you have QuickEMR on multiple computers, the Server update only needs to be performed from one of the computers. Once complete, all other computers can be updated with the Begin Client Update explained further below.

Once the Server update has downloaded all of the files, start the QuickEMR program from this same pc. Since some updates require changes to the structure of our database, the message below may appear. If it does not appear, proceed to the next computer to update it and follow the instructions below for Begin "Client" update.

If you receive this message, click the OK button. It will launch the QuickEMR database update program. Again, all users MUST be out of QuickEMR for the database to be updated.

When this screen appears, just click the "Perform Update" button!

Begin "Client" Update - If the server update was completed successfully and you have QuickEMR installed on other computers on your network, move on to the next computer, launch QuickEMR, go to Tools and select Check For Update. When the update program launches, simply select the Begin "Client" Update button. This will copy the files from your server to the computer you are currently using. This avoids the sometimes lengthy process of downloading the files from our web server again.

As each computer is updated, users may go back into QuickEMR!
